Baselight now has a curve-based Video Grade for precise finessing; variable feathering on shapes and a quick shapes library to simplify shape generation. A new DSpot tool repairs image defects in place, and a system of timeline marks and annotation for progress and communication is included.

Baselight 4.2, available across the range of Baselight systems, enables Digital Dailies workflows by adding support for per-shot audio from a variety of sources including embedded QuickTime, MXF and R3D. Further updates enable colour matching and geometric correction of stereoscopic 3D source footage, before applying Baselight’s colour grading tools simultaneously to both channels. This helps a Baselight suite to work on 3D projects as effectively as 2D projects.

Version 4.2 also includes the layer view to simplify navigation of complex stacks, enhancements to the Job Manager and Sequence Browser and improvements to the Baselight keyers.  www.filmlight.ltd.uk
