Web videographers reverse the rules of Hollywood shooting. Camera movement undermines compression, so you cut instead of dolly. To prevent losing subtlety of colour and background, palettes and scenery have to be simpler. Brighter lighting keeps shadow detail from disappearing. To take advantage of the mobile phone video explosion, many smart producers are defining scenes to work on the smallest of screens.

Aysha Leo and Irena Macri are part of News Digital Media’s multimedia team which produces rich media content for News Limited’s national news website NEWS.com.au.
Aysha started her career in media as a sub-editor with www.afr.com.au and then with www.smh.com.au, before moving into video journalism. She has been shooting video for news websites since 2000. She is currently a senior video journalist for NEWS.com.au. Her role sees her researching, shooting, interviewing, writing and editing 2-3 minute video stories for both daily and long-term deadlines.
After completing her Digital Media degree at the College of Fine Arts, Irena spent few years freelancing in both Sydney and Berlin, producing video and multimedia content for a variety of platforms. Her background and skills extend to design, motion graphics and sound production, which combined with her passion for all things 2.0 lead her to the wide world of web. Unable to choose between two roles, she currently works as a video journalist and a multimedia producer for NEWS.com.au. She puts video stories together for the site and is heavily involved in the production of feature interactives for NEWS.com.au, both as a producer, designer, and a solution seeker.

Francisco Cordero
Francisco Cordero joined Bebo as their first General Manager for its operations in Australia and New Zealand. Cordero has over seven years experience in sales and business development roles in Europe and Australia. Most recently, he was Group Sales manager for Yahoo!7, responsible for sales activity across the joint venture between Yahoo! and Publishing Seven Group Media. In this position, he pioneered some of its most complicated cross media marketing solutions and led the sales team during the critical initial period of the joint venture. Prior to this, Cordero took up a role at ninemsn, after moving from Lycos UK in Europe, and applied his European experience to ninemsn’s biggest billing relationships.

Ian Vaile
Ian Vaile is director of Fairfax Digital Productions, responsible for developing, producing and distributing multi-platform content, including video and multimedia. He was previously content, commissioning and editorial head for the ABC’s New Media and Digital Services division. Scott Gledhill
Scott's current role is Web Technology Strategist at News Digital Media in Sydney where he plays a vital role in educating and implementing Web standards development and search engine optimisation across a large network of corporate Web sites. He is a regular speaker at industry events and recent engagements include Search Summit, CeBIT, SxSW Interactive and Web Directions 2007. Scott also moonlights as co-founder of Molt:n Digital, a Sydney based web consultancy. Rod Jacka
Rod Jacka is the Managing Director of Panalysis, a specialist web analytics company. Rod holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts (University of Sydney) and a Master of Business and Technology (UNSW) and has over 13 years experience in management and consulting in the Internet industry. He has worked in industries as diverse as education, retail and manufacturing and has consulted on web analytics for a large number of major websites.
Rod founded Panalysis in 2001 to provide solutions to business that allow them to unlock the latent potential residing in the data generated by their websites by analysing this data in a business context.
Originally from a trades background, Rod is a firm believer in the old adage, “measure twice and cut once”.
