LaCie 2big NAS Backs Up and Shares for Small Businesses
Published on Wednesday, 30 May 2012
The LaCie 2big NAS is a 2-bay system powered by a 2GHz processor, reaching speeds
up to 100MB/s, allowing small businesses to secure data and support employees sharing
files between PC, Mac or Linux workstations.
| The 2big NAS supports continuous data accessibility and collaboration due to the 2Ghz processor and LaCie NAS OS 2 software and has enough storage capacity and bandwidth to back up multiple workstations, share large files and work on projects concurrently. | |

| The system’s multiple levels of security include RAID 1 for data mirroring, and the use of hot-swappable drives means a failed disk can normally be replaced without interruption or need to turn off the device. The LaCie 2big NAS can be used to back up Linux, PC or Mac workstations with the included LaCie backup software, Time Machine or Windows 7 Backup applications. The LaCie’s NAS OS 2 dashboard is used to schedule automatic back up, and includes wizards with presets handling RAID management, users management, NAS-to-NAS backups and other administration tasks. |

| Other major events such as backing up the 2big NAS onto a direct-attached external hard drive or scheduling nightly backups onto a NAS in a different location may also be organised. The 2big NAS allows users to access files from outside locations via Internet, or download a free iOS app, LaCie MyNAS, to access files from an iPhone or iPad. To full control energy usage, scheduling shutdown and restart during optimal business hours may increase efficiency. LaCie 2big NAS is available in June 2012. www.lacie.com/au |
