| According to the two companies, file-based workflows, digital assets and file system storage used in production can rapidly occupy available online storage. As productions near completion, storage capacity will be at its lowest point before files are moved off line, which may place the production at risk. To help alleviate potential problems, Southpaw’s TACTIC production asset management application and DataFrameworks ClarityNow! file-based workflow software are currently being integrated. TACTIC was designed to enable large teams of digital artists and animators to store, track, find and move digital assets through the creation process. Using versioning functions, TACTIC can automatically inform ClarityNow! of the latest versions of a file, and then tag older versions of files that need to be moved to near-line or off-line storage, assisting data managers who need to identify unused files. ClarityNow! will organize the files kept in on-, near- and off-line storage to optimize disk space. This can make files easier to find and potentially avoid manual processes and extra storage costs. The integration of TACTIC and ClarityNow! is currently in development and expected in the latter half of 2011. www.southpawtech.com www.dataframeworks.com |
